Meet the Team
Zarek
Zarek is the brains behind what we do. He was born in Arizona and moved to Midland when he was young. He is a graduate of Midland High where he was an honors student and member of the golf team. After graduation Zarek played golf at Midland College and then transferred to Texas A&M; where he graduated at the age of 21 with a degree in Economics. Z is one of our top club fitters. He knows the swing very well and teaches at the store in the evenings. Z's experience on the course, his incredible work ethic and commitment to the customer has made him a tremendous leader at our shop and is a great choice when doing club fitting and analysis.
Jarrod
Jarrod has 21 years of experience in the golf industry. He is a native of Amarillo and moved to Midland in 2008. Jarrod began his golf career in 1997 at Ross Rogers golf course. He was a shop assistant at La Paloma and director of golf at Palo Duro Creek Golf Course in Canyon, Tx. In 2004 he started working for Golf Headquarters in Amarillo. Fitting customers for clubs and teaching became his passion. He genuinely cares about each and every customer that walks through the door. It is of paramount importance to him that your experience is full of knowledge and expertise but also that you feel like part of the GHQ family. Jarrod has great experience in club fitting. He has fit all types of players from beginners to PGA tour professionals. He looks forward to working with you and helping you find the best fit for your game!
Connor
Connor plays an essential role in our day to day operations. Born and raised in Midland, he graduated from Lee High School and is currently attending Midland College. Since joining the shop in 2021, Connor has become a familiar and friendly face, helping with just about everything we do. Whether it's club fitting, club repair, or getting your WhatNot order out the door, Connor is always ready to help. A passionate sports fan, he especially enjoys diving into fitting data and talking through the numbers with fellow golf enthusiasts. When he's not at the shop, you'll likely find him on the golf course or serving at Presence Church, home of Inner Court Worship.
David
David has over 30 years experience in the golf industry. He has made his mark in our community with all of his teaching of the game with both junior players and adults. David began playing when he was little, won the Dallas City Junior Championship, became the Texas state champion and 2nd medalist in 1988. He went on to play at Odessa College where he was an All-American Honorable Mention. From 1990-1992 he attended Texas Tech University where he received his bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 1992 he became the Assistant Golf Professional at Ratliff Ranch in Odessa and by 1998 he earned the Head Golf Professional position. In 2003 David went to work for Kyle Howard at Golf Etc. in Odessa. There he learned the expert craft of fitting. When asked what he is most proud of, David says the marriage to his beautiful wife Denelle. David is one of our premier fitters!
Clinton
Clinton joined Golf Headquarters in 2011 and quickly developed a passion for helping others improve their game. In 2016, he stepped away to pursue a calling into pastoral ministry, serving and leading within the local church. After several years in ministry, Clinton returned to the HQ with a renewed perspective on leadership and team culture. Today he helps lead the growth of the business, the nationally recognized GHQCrew WhatNot channel, and the shops continued commitment to delivering an exceptional golf experience both in store and online.
Donny
Donny was the GM of Denver Mattress for 10 years. During his tenure they became one of the top grossing stores in the country. Donny also was a top 5% in the nation salesman for the GM companies. He is also an Air Force veteran who comes from a long line of retired and active military family. Donny has a daughter named Gracie who played golf at Legacy High and was on the all-district team. He is also an expert putter fitter!
